Downtown Cannabis Company: Cannalope Kush

This purchase is one I’ve done a few times. It is what is referred to as a “Reload” which is exactly what you think it might be – an oil cartridge reload, more ammo, man. This has a lower Cannabinoid total of 47.28% (if I read that correctly with the glare on the photo), and is a gram of oil. This went down in price at Ganja Goddess because of the low THC content, apparently – but I definitely won’t complain about paying $27 or so for a gram of oil! Solid come up!

The oil is cut with Propylene Glycol which I’m not always exactly stoked on, but it isn’t the end of the world. I prefer the oils to be uncut like Liberty Reach does with theirs.

The packaging for this item is the standard foil with the tearable manufacturer seal and zip lock style closing method. The bottle the oil comes in itself is a nice design as well, though I’m sure it can be improved. I haven’t bought any other reloads since this guy, as this was the cheapest in price i’ve seen thus far, comparing to other companies and strains that will cost up to $100/g oil. The bottle has a tip that needs to be cut off in order for the oil to be released. How far down you cut the tip will determine the hole size the oil will come out of, which could be problematic for when you are reloading your cartridge. I’ve only had one spillage, nothing severe though. I’ve refilled the cartridges with the small hole under the mouth piece which was easy, and i’ve refilled the Clarity Farm cartridges, where the mouthpiece comes off but the atomizer is in the middle so you have to work around it. If the plastic tip for this reload was made of a different material, or thinner, it’d be easier to refill cartridges with it. The bottom of the reload unscrews and you can dispense the oil out of that part as well. There was oil leftover inside the bottle but nothing extreme, though enough to make me sort of bummed and write this extra sentence. It was tough to get some of the last drops of oil out… kind of like squeezing the last bit of toothpaste out of the bottle. gnarly. Would be cooler if it was a push method, like a push pop, but with a nice small spout at the end for the oil to come out of.

Anyway, would I buy this again? Totally! Great price, great all around any time of day type of smoke. Something to just have on hand because. It’s not too powerful, not too expensive, the packaging is efficient enough. Rockin’!

Liberty Reach: Jack Herer

This is my first Liberty Reach product I’ve purchased – a Co2 cartridge of Jack Herer.

I’m not sure I enjoy that strain so much, though i’d give it a second chance, perhaps from a different company though so I can compare. From what I remember, this strain made me feel anxious. For me, it seemed like a powerful hybrid, slightly more sativa dominant, but the heavy back of your eyes and head type of sativa. The taste was heavy and robust.

The cartridges that Liberty Reach use, at least for this buy, are a little longer and suited for full grams of oil – which in my case I only purchased .5g. The middle part was made of plastic as well as the mouth piece, which was a longer tipped mouthpiece and had a flatter tip than others i’ve used. This wasn’t terrible, however It was inconvenient to have that size of a mouthpiece because it’s just not necessary. Even selling .5 grams in 1 gram cartridges is inefficient because of the oil that will inevitably reach all surface of the inside, resulting in a layer of unused oil stuck to the inside wall. However, the atomizer lasted a refill of Cannalope Kush oil without leaking or losing performance. I’m sure I can get another refill out of it! Though – downside is that with this style of cartridge, there will always be leftover oil on the inside. Maybe if there was a different material used that would allow the oil to not stick, then I’d be all for this product.

I like the packaging – it’s flashy, simple, and modernly classic. The cartridge comes in a standard plastic tube with a rubber stopper at the end to keep it from falling out, which are perfect for storing joints in or keeping your cartridge in it during travels.

Really, I didn’t mind this oil cartridge strain by Liberty Reach – especially because it is uncut, though if they changed the cartridges they used and didn’t put .5g’s in 1g containers then buying their Co2 oil cartridges would be more enticing.

This was purchased at Uncle Ike’s for $55 dollars.

Vuber Carrying Case

The Vuber Carrying Case makes it easy to carry the perfect amount of items anywhere you go. I’ve been wanting a case like this for a while – I’ve used a snap closing hardshell case for my items, a pull tie soft shell satchel, spread out in my messenger bag or backpack, or even just in my pocket, which sometimes I would forget about and when I would sit down I’d end up sitting on my concentrate pen, which eventually broke because of that. So, I came across this travel case on the companies website (link below) and It made my life a lot easier.

The case is hard enough to protect what’s inside, has 3 pockets and 2 straps to hold down the battery of your vape pens, dab tool, poker stick, etc. I chose to use my case for my concentrate collection. You could also use it to store flower, papers, filters, lighters, hemp wick, etc. If you have the Vuber Atlas Globe like I do and choose to keep it inside this case, you will have to disassemble the globe top to store it as shown, otherwise it will be a tight squeeze when you zip the case shut. It holds my Vuber Wax Concentrate pen nicely, however my Oil Cartridge pen (Made by?) doesn’t seem to hold as well in the strap (pictured last on the right side of pouch, left strap next to metal dab tool) and can easily slide out of place when the case is closed and you’re traveling.

This case is awesome but could be improved in a couple ways. It’d be nice if the pockets were all facing the same direction (refer to last picture, left side pockets are upside down and right side pocket it right side up). This gets annoying and I feel like I need to open the case lying flat otherwise something might fall out of the pocket since it’s upside down. I’d also make the straps adjustable to accommodate smaller concentrate pens like the one I have in the photo. Maybe improve the elastic used, or add a third strap but have it focus more on smaller items such as most oil concentrate pens, dab tools, poking sticks, etc. Lastly, I definitely wouldn’t complain if the case was a tad more hardshell, however I definitely wouldn’t complain if it stayed exactly how it is now.

Overall this is an excellent case that i’d recommend, and for the price it’s totally worth saving the hassle of potentially loose and broken items. Keep your belongings together and safe!

Honu: Blue Dream Wax

This is from my December holiday smoke sesh. I haven’t gotten this strain since, however I remember it being awesome. I wish I would have gotten more photos, though I didn’t expect to start writing about what I’ve tried before until recently.

First off, I wanna say I remember the brand “Honu” being quality. This .5g wax had an excellent near crumble texture. Easy to control with your fingers, though I still recommend using a dab tool of some sort to manipulate the wax incase your fingers are too warm and ends up melting a bit while handling it. It came in a small plastic container that was easy to close and open, and presented on a small piece of wax paper which ensured an easier wax to smoking unit application (you know, because sometimes it will stick to the container itself depending on the consistency).

The packaging for this concentrate is standard for nearly all non oil cartridge concentrates: manufacturer sealed by a tear off top that is then sealed by a re-openable zip lock bag type feature. Sometimes the tear off top doesn’t always tear off evenly, as you can see in the photo below.

As far as the smoke goes, it burnt nicely and didn’t have the solvent heavy – yet subtle – undertone taste like some concentrates do. It was clean and was the perfect strain to smoke in the late afternoon to early evening. For me, It was a nice refreshing head high with enough body to it that didn’t seem over bearing and would help keep me organizing my record collection without a spacey distraction. I’d be curious to try this strain by Honu again but in flower form.
